Opened last February 18, 2009, a canteen by design with breads available only for merienda breaks for SM Sta. Mesa employees.

The store is located behind the walls of SM Centerpoint's parking area together with almost 20 stalls to date. This is a business area project of Barangay 168 and we are lucky to buy the stall from its previous owner in just 20,000.00. Because it is a local government project, we don't need to undergo document processing like permits and DTI certifications. Only 60 pesos is collected everyday for barangay fee.

It was a total stuggle on its 2 weeks of operation prior to the opening date. We never expected that the income would become too low. Based on our observations, this was caused by the following:
1. We are just a new commer and we don't have patrons yet.
2. There are a lot of canteens along the line. I think we never took much attention in this matter in the planning stage its because for us if your foods are that so delicious and well prepared, it will be on demand.
3. The worst reason: It is an "UTANG-BAYAD" system. Why this issue did not come out on our feasibility study?

But beside of the above factors, there was no turning back. We invested a lot of money in this business so we need to stand by it. Think of a better promotional ideas, discounts and additional menus.
