Wawa Dam
Montalban, Rizal
April 10, 2009

The way to Wawa was good enough to enjoy the adventure. After Marcos highway, everything was new to me. I've never been to Rizal.

High mountain ranges could be seen from the distant, the bold indication that the place could be reached in just 10 minutes from the town of Montalban via a tricycle. This is the only means of transportation if you are commuting.

After alighted from the tricycle, a huge crowd under the sun welcomed us.

Seeking for the best place, we walked about a half kilometer. The up-way was not that easy. It was a very narrowed pathway, without any fence for protection from the high cliff where sharp bulges of rocks awaits. There were also small but dark caves along the way.

The sceneric beauty of the place is breathtaking.

The falling water from the edge of the dam was a picture perfect.

The river below the water fall was surrounded by small nipa huts accomodated by visitors.

We settled our selves in the higher part of the river. More nipa huts could be seen along the river banks, others were floating at the center of the river. A huge crowed was present that day from different part of Marikina, Rizal, others are far from Manila areas (like us) and other part of Metro.

After serving ourselves with beer and junkfoods, Kuya Resty and I dived in the water. With mud in our foot we swim to the center. The mud at the bottom surface of the river turns the water to dark green.

Several dives made us tired. Blamed the beer that we took a while ago. More and more speculators, visitors, adventurers and mountain hikers over crowded the place.

We left the place at 4'o clock in the afternoon just good enough for travelling back to Manila.

Arriving in Cubao before 5'o clock, we proceed to Quiapo Church to dedicate atleast an hour with God, the real reason why Catholic celebrates this season.
